Mr. K Barden
Mr. B trained at Westminster Tech, London (ages ago) as an A La Carte Chef, moved to Cornwall to take the catering trade by storm, met Mrs. B, set up a restaurant, had some kids, moved around a bit, opened another restaurant, did a bit of building work here & there, made a very special ice cream in Newlyn for a while and then was coaxed over to Hayle to create the best ever Parlour.
Mrs P Barden
Brought up in a well known Penzance pub through her teens, Mrs. B met Mr. B whilst working as a waitress. Convinced she had met an Italian God she soon realised that the accent of her suntanned Adonis was a drunk Cockney one, but none the less it turned out to be a perfect match. Mrs. B, having not only done all of that stuff above too, has spent nearly 40 years married to Mr. B. The patience of a Saint, we say!
Charlotte Jackie Barden
As Cornish as they come, Charlotte or Todd’s sister as she is best known, can be found on daily basis inventing new flavours for Mr B’s. When not making ice cream, Char can be found in the back of the shop chewing on a cuttle fish bone, the dust of which is bought by DIY chain B&Q and sold on as bathroom and kitchen grout. We like to think there’s a little bit of Char in almost every household across the UK
